all I can do is keep breathing

Mother accidentally printed out this enlargement of the centre of one of my passport photos. I found it hilarious.

One of my favourite workshirts...

The skirt's from Mother - it has the most amazing wet look, like leather, but is a feather-light and loose sweetheart.

My darling Marni Fall/Winter 2008 jelly Mary Jane shoes - mother managed to get them reheeled after months of my bemoaning the inability to wear something that's lost the base of the heel on one side due to me running to CK Tangs for a make-up session before prom.

Sportmax Code blouse, Cacharel skirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, Vivienne Westwood spectacles, Marni shoes

Late-night sleeping times, driving lessons five times a week, working, preparing for my life in London and even just thinking about preparing for the move to our new place in August are taking their toll on me. Yesterday during and after work, there was an intense period of self-derision, and self-esteem took an all-time dive. After a lovely driving lesson with the sweetest and most amusing little old man instructor, I gathered the remnants of my pride and took a deep staggering breath.

E (aka my sweet younger sister Ella) and I stepped into the new apartment last night for the first time and I felt a sense of renewal as I gazed out of what is to be my new room to the city and streets before me. I could see the tops of Marina Bay Sands, the ION building, the changing lights of the shopping centres of Orchard Road, and the many cars and lorries and motorcycles and buses traversing the expressways and the roads around them. The lush knowledge that anything is possible came back in a rapid rush and I could truly breathe again.

Thank you to the darling friends, like K and S, who help to keep my ship sailing on the high seas, I love you, best mates.

P.S. To everyone who has been asking to go out during the week, I apologize for not having told you I've been working at a law firm... granted, my working hours are flexible when I have things like driving lessons at 8.15am or 3.20pm, or if I have to settle university-related things like my visa application, but I can only do lunch, and early dinners if I don't have driving that day - might be a little difficult to arrange that... let me know.
