Apologies for this other long hiatus! I've moved into my hall in London and am loving the weather, food and overall atmosphere so far; have yet to replenish my mediocre wardrobe so outfit posts might be in short supply - I'll be posting more from the last weeks I spent in Singapore...

Wore a flapper cocktail dress to a UK university pageant a few weeks back to support my friend and fellow classmate, Wan Lin; the darling won Miss Glamorous!

Last Thursday, C and I popped down to Wisma Atria for Fashion Night Out with Miss Selfridge. In between our sampling of the delicious hors d'œuvre and petits fours courtesy of Cova, and trying out of some Minx nails courtesy of Vedure Nailspa, the girls of Miss Selfridge presented some key trends for fall including the jumpsuit, the lace shift dress, the maxi-dress, animal prints, the embellished evening jacket and high-waisted denim, and Benefit Cosmetics held a demonstration of a flawless natural evening look using its wide range of skin makeup products.

Miss Selfridge has always been a go-to for Singaporean girls (and women all over the world) looking to incorporate slightly more quirky pieces (such as the adorable trapeze jacket, or even the jumpsuit) or trendy pieces (the lace shift dress, or the embellished evening jacket) into their outfits. We enjoyed the styling the Miss Selfridge girls presented (and their own outfits as well; Topshop Wisterias, anyone?). The maxi-dress look particularly piqued our interest as a cardigan was layered beneath the denim jacket, and cuffed to the elbow with the denim. Toss a printed scarf on, and I could wear the look with my black maxi tank dress for something more minimalist.

A complete summer look with bare arms and legs was fitting for one of my last chances at dressing for Singapore's eternal summer ahead of fall dressing in London; less than 7 days to departure. (Two sweet girls at the event asked for a how-to on my hair - h
ot-weather-friendly pinned up braids, a style I've loved for ages. Cupcakes and Cashmere wears a version exactly like mine! It's perfect for thicker hair.) I'm still debating with myself whether to bring the Marni bag with me to London, as sorting out of the Closet has commenced with a draft packing list at the ready... more on the process soon.

Thank you to Miss Selfridge and Vedure for the much-needed fashion night out in the midst of my busy, busy week unpacking boxes at my new place!

P.S. C wears her favourite Wildfox v-neck tee and Gap jeans.

I took a break from packing for the new place for a girl's day out with Suze. With the rain falling lightly outside, we tucked ourselves into Café Hacienda (13A Dempsey Road, Singapore 249674; (65) 6476 2922; 9am – 11pm), a lovely hideaway amongst the Dempsey tropics. The maxi dress I picked up during my Tokyo trip back in May was perfect for a lazy day, and I'm relishing the "just-rolled-out-of-bed" look maybe a little too much nowadays. Brunch was fabulous - we had been craving eggs Benedict and eggs Royale for weeks and our hankerings were satisfied completely. Do drop by for reasonably priced all-day brunch, and wash it all down with some champagne or mixed juice - I tried the carrot and green Anjou pear, and it was delicious for a refreshingly cool day.

After an amusing and giggle-inducing session at Honeypot, we retreated to Tatsuya (22 Scotts Road, Goodwood Park Hotel, Singapore 228221; (65) 6887 4598) for some temaki and Japanese ice cream to top off our last day out together before we both depart for college. I'm quite honestly going to miss her quirks and penchant for the same things...

Apologies for the slight hiatus over the past week and a half - we've just moved into our new apartment; packing and unpacking 12 extra years of things isn't easy, especially since those 12 years covered my primary, secondary and pre-university educations, several phases of personality changes and eons of memories. The new place is amazing, but I'm leaving for college in London in exactly 11 days - wistfulness and longing are part and parcel of the last days of what still feels like an endless and blissful Singaporean summer.

P.S. When we were shooting outside Hacienda, the blue van drove in, and the driver started waving like mad... so we took a photo of him! Small anecdotes are love.
