spikes and sunshine.

Sometimes I get so amazed by what London presents us with - in the case of this one Sunday, we had brilliant sunshine, decadent bites and a few amazing finds at the various markets near Liverpool Street; Spitalfields is the best for browsing, Petticoat Lane for little basic things. B and I walked all over and ended the day with a peaceful stroll in St. Paul's, where I left her for the evening service, and walked all the way back to Bloomsbury, the sun shining upon my face and my Max&Co sleeveless wool cape keeping me warm...

Saturday afternoon in Oxford Street.

United Arrows maxi tank dress, Primark cardigan, American Apparel floppy felt hat, Elizabeth & James knuckle ring, Prada purse, DKNY sneaker pumps

Out with Shiru on a drizzly Saturday afternoon, we tucked ourselves into La Tasca at Regent Street for comforting paella (my new favourite carbs) and decadent churros. As I was still sick with freshers' flu, I bundled up in an inexpensive cardigan and my favourite maxi dress. I also finally picked up the floppy felt hat I've wanted for months, and my Elizabeth and James knuckle ring arrived just in time before I flew off to London. London's been a dream and surreal and I've been going out at night plenty... I'll be picking up a pro point-and-shoot sometime soon so expect more photos...

C and I popped by the new DKNY store at Paragon on a lovely afternoon in September for the Fall Collection presentation and stylists' workshop - lady-like pieces were on show, as were sweet cocktail looks that have become the chic mainstay of the DKNY line; one of my favourites is the dress in the second photo above - with tiny flowers sewn on all over the skirt. If you're in Singapore, do visit the store - they have a cafe! The store at Palais Renaissance used to have a cafe up until the renovation of the store in 2005 (I remember going to the newly renovated store for the FW05 preview, at least). Enjoy some refreshing drinks and little tidbits for a break from shopping!

The dress I wore, an eco-friendly knit dream of a piece made of baby alpaca wool, presented a bit of a dilemma because of the netting at the sides - for a day look, I wore a corset under and snipped off the legs of a pair of tights to provide more coverage. C donned her DKNY S/S 2010 light wooden strappy wedge sandals with a DKNY-worthy summer dress.

My outfit later easily took me to a party celebrating J's birthday, where the theme was Youthful Minimalism. As the night went on and I celebrated my last Saturday in Singapore before college, the daze took over and we all reveled in our youth, mistaken, perfect, marred, and whatever we made it out to be.
