KBF blazer-shawl, Urban Outfitters cloche, Mulberry Alexa, Staccato boots
The first few days of the new year dawned quietly, with friends still out of town, holiday shoppers trickling out of the city and drizzle gleefully surprising us every few hours. With my friend Tiffany, I tackled whatever was left of the post-Christmas sales, picking up a couple of things from Selfridges and a pleated maxi dress from Topshop that might function nicely as an evening gown. Exhausted by the activity of trawling through racks and racks of F/W items, we tucked ourselves into my favourite cinema in London, the Everyman on Baker Street (thank you, Stella, for the tip!) and indulged in Love and Other Drugs - I loved everything about Anne Hathaway's character Maggie's apartment, and the grungy, bohemian yet modern vibe of the film; if you haven't yet watched it, please do and don't look upon the film as a cliche!
A new favourite Japanese line called KBF made up much of the new wardrobe I lugged back from Hong Kong - this shawl with one side made to fit around one's neck with a blazer lapel design was a surprising recommendation by the friendly and supremely helpful group of girls at KBF at the One (a new shopping mall along Nathan Road). It's warm, massive and wraps one up nicely in damp grey weather, and the blazer detail adds some edge to a typical plaid shawl. Check out KBF at almost any I.T. store in Hong Kong!
